Default Divine Boon PvP Prot Monk

I have been working on a Protection Monk build for a while and want to get some opinions on it.

Divine Boon PvP Protection Monk/Mes

Divine Favor 14 (11 +3)
Protection 12 (10+1+1hat)
Inspiration 10
Domination 1

Reversal of Fortune
Guardian
Mend Ailment
Energy Drain {E}
Aegis
Hex Breaker
Divine Boon
Res Signet

Been working really well, but I am thinking about losing Res Sig. I would keep it for Random Arena, but lose it in team/tombs. The question I have is what should I use to replace it? Protective Spirit or Signet of Devotion?

Please take a look and give me any advice you might have on the issue.

Thanks

Hexbreaker with only 1 in Domination isn't that good nowadays, since it was nerfed.

In place of your rez signet, you MUST have Protective spirit. A protection monk without Protective spirit is a non-sense.

And for energy managment, I definitly think Offering of blood is better than Energy drain (faster reload, faster cast, doesn't depend on the ennemy level of energy), unless your team is running an energy denial build.

But honestly, outside arenas I really think boon prot are quite bad. You're supposed to protect, not to heal. Protective spirit will cost 12 energy, Aegis will trigger Divine boon when you don't need it to, etc...

Looks good to me. You also might consider dropping Aegis and bringing Inspired Hex, along with dropping the Rez Signet for channeling.

Hex Breaker is still ridiculous, even with only 1 or 2 in domination.

Prot spirit instead of Signet of Devotion - you're a prot monk, no?

I would also be worried about your energy with Divine Boon. Energy Drain also has a 20 second recharge.

Otherwise, a good protection monk for Arenas perhaps, can't see it going great in Tombs or GvG though.

Ok.. maybe

Doesn't sig of devotion solve this earlier problem?

Prot/Boon is in reality the only monk worth using in Areans. It's almost impossible to keep up with the damage 3-4 players do... so you must mitigate damage and heal or your worthless.

Above poster is right. A straight prot monk won't cut it, a healer monk has serious limitations against conditions, frag builds, and spikers, and two monk teams are really poor. Boon prot is the best way to go.

I tried out a Mo/N for Offering of Blood. Well OoB is prob a little bit better than Energy Drain, but I am not willing to give up Hex Breaker. I had always run Hex Breaker, and w/o it I realized how much Monks get Hexxed. Remove Hex and Smite Hex just can't keep up. Inspired Hex is great for energy and fast cast, but losing it for 20 seconds while it is the hex.....sucks.

So Mo/Me for me. Energy Drain is close enough that I will cope to keep Hex Breaker.

Conemplation of Purity is a decent substitute for hex breaker.

I did try Contemplation of Purity, but the constant recasting of Divine Boon just took too much energy. It erased any advantage gained from OoB.
